Filling Buckets - Making New Friends

Last week we read a story called 'Have You Filled a bucket Today?'

It talks about how we can make ourselves and others happy by filling imaginary buckets.

In Ti Kouka we have been working hard to fill other people's buckets by playing with new people, taking turns and helping each other.

Maths - Statistics

This week we have been doing lots of sorting activities.

Today we had some cards with fruit and veges on them. We had to sort them in as many different ways as possible.

Some of the ways we came up with were - by colour, by shape, by number, by where we keep them, and by if we like them or not.

Huritini Fish

Huritini is the Maori word for Halswell River.

We found a cool quote "We all may be a different kind of fish but in this studio we swim together."

We used this to talk about how we are all unique and special.

We each turned ourselves into a fish to go into our Huritini River.

Ti Kouka's Scavenger hunt

We did a scavenger hunt in the studio today. We worked with a buddy that we didn't know. It was fun getting to meet new people.

We had to find lots of different places in the studio.

 We tried really hard to take turns with our buddy.

What a great first day in Ti Kouka! We are learning a lot about each other while we are playing.
