Open Door Friday

Today during Open Door Friday there was a lot of learning happening.
Some of us got creative in the wet room with the coloured paper and paper bags. Some people made puppets. Georgia made a Mikey the Monkey.

We had the Beebots and Cubetto out so we could practise our coding.

We always love playing with the magnets. Lots of us chose to work together to build houses, towers and trains today.

We put the big TV in the blue room so we could do some dancing. Our favourite was 'What does the Fox Say?'

Some of us decided to challenge ourselves on the bars and learn some new tricks. It was great to hear people supporting each other and teaching them how to do something new.

There was a lot of digging and negotiating happening in the sandpit.

It was nice to see Ti Kouka children making new friends and trying new things.

Learning Maths Games and Matific

This week we have been learning to play some new maths games. While we were playing we had to make sure we were:

  • taking turns
  • sharing our ideas
  • asking questions
  • speaking nicely
  • listening

We also learnt how to login into Matific.

Ti Kouka's Studio Treaty

Last week we read the Tree Hut Treaty.

We decided it would be a good idea to have a treaty for Ti Kouka so we can all be happy and safe in the studio.

On our Treaty, we coloured our handprints to show we are all unique and special.

We are trying really hard to make sure we follow our Studio Treaty.

Using our imaginations during ACTIVE play

During play this week we have been busy using our imaginations. We have also been practising following our Studio Treaty.

We created a big slide and worked together.

We love playing with the imagination playground.

We made our own Bey Blades and had competitions.

We had fun building a big marble run.

Look how tall we built our tower!!!

Collecting Information about our T groups

We read all about Debbie's class and found out lots of information about the children in her class.
We then decided what we would like to find out about our T groups. We worked in groups to collect the information. We made sure we were practising:

  • taking turns
  • sharing our ideas
  • asking questions
  • speaking nicely
  • listening

We helped each other write statements about our graphs.

Pirates visited Ti Kouka

Last night some pirates visited Ti Kouka.

They left treasure lying all around the studio. We decided to collect it, count it and record how much we found on a graph.

We had to work together in a group. That meant we had to take turns, share the gluesticks and listen to what our friends had to say.
