Conservation Week and Maori Language Week
It has been a busy week in Ti Kouka as we were celebrating Conservation Week and Te Reo o te Wiki.

For our Big Book, we read different Maori legends and some of the children enjoyed drawing characters from the stories during ACTIVE play.
During maths, we had to work out how many Tui could be in 3 kowhai trees.
The Kakapo reading group learnt how to make web diagrams using their book New Zealand Birds.

And on Friday some children also chose to draw some of our native birds.
Sunny days
Yay, we have really enjoyed all the sunny weather this week!
Our hill is dry enough for the trucks to come out again.
Levi and Jai made up a shooting game using the posts of the shade sail.

Rayon had fun finding bugs in the garden.
And the sand pit was a hive of activity.

Grandparents Day
This morning we had a very special assembly where we celebrate our successes and performed to our Grandparents.
It was cool to see so many Grandparents in the audience!
We love the Tofa Tufa song.
A massive congratulations to those people that received a certificate today.

Our Day at PE
During PE over the last few weeks we have been working on our fitness. We have had a number of different stations set up where we spend a few minutes at each one.
The hula hoops are pretty tricky but we always try our best.
We love the skipping ropes!
We are practising our hand-eye coordination when we bounce and catch the ball in the hoop.
The Dog and the Rabbit game has become a new favourite.
When we run through the ladder we have to try our best not to touch the rungs with your feet. Some of us even try hopping in each gap!
